Can you believe it!?! We're just WEEKS away from meeting our little man and bringing him home to his forever family! I'm so excited I could burst!
I just can not wait to kiss these sweet little cheeks and see a smile on his sad face. Dear Blake, we're coming!
What a journey this has been! It's been nearly two years since we saw his sweet face and began praying for him. Paul and I thank all of you that have supported us and prayed with/for us during this long process. Oh what a process it has been too.
Those of you that know Paul and I well, you know that we don't like to ask for help when it comes to personal things...you know, like money. We work hard and we're proud of it. But adoption is expensive. The agency fees, legal fees, two flights around the world, three back to the states, and two weeks in a foreign country - it's expensive. But look at that face. He's worth every penny, every sacrifice and every struggle.
We've been blessed with a great church family that blessed us with a bake sale last fall, by a phenomenal grant from the JSC Foundation, by friends and family that felt moved to help a little boy that they too had never met. The long and the short of it, we're blessed!
As the day nears to book our travel and hop on that international flight, we're still a bit short of what we need to make the trip.
Our dear friends, the Tierneys, have generously donated five fantastic BRAND-SPANKING NEW Scentsy items for us to auction off in a silent auction with all proceeds benefiting our handsome Blake.
Scentsy is fantastic. I'm addicted; I really am! For those of you that aren't familiar with Scentsy, it's a simple and flameless way to make your home smell incredible while still being fashionable. There's hundreds of scents to choose from which of course means that I can rotate scents and have a different one on each level of the house. If you want to give Scentsy a try and win one of the warmers but don't know where to look for the scented blocks or bricks, I'll hook you up with Jackie and you can order in your favorite scent.
So back to the auction. Here are the RULES:
The auction will begin TODAY, Friday, Sept. 7th at 1 pm Central time. It will run through Friday, Sept. 14th at 10 pm Central time. YOU HAVE ONE WEEK TO BID!
Bidding
Instructions
Read every item description carefully. All items have a minimum starting bid and S & H. Please do not bid unless you can truly pay for the item. Payment for the item, should you win, will be required within 48 hrs from the time you receive the invoice unless you have requested otherwise via e-mail to me (AKA you need to transfer funds). If payment is not received within the timeframe and I have sent (3 reminder e-mails) it will go to the next highest bidder.
- Payment- Should you win an item there will be a few ways to pay and I am still finalizing those details now. PayPal and ChipIn are two methods of payment. If you live locally, we will consider cash/check. If you win just wait to hear from me. I will send you a confirmation e-mail but since it is just me doing this it may take 1-3 days!
- Please be respectful to the businesses and other bidders. Any negative comment will be deleted on my blog. In the comments section under each post please only use that area to place a bid.
- Bid Mindfully! Remember this is a silent auction to save a child’s life and bring them home to their forever family! The amount raised will go towards our final required fees in China.
- All of the items have minimum bids and the only increment rule is that it can not be any less $1 under the current bid. For example if the current bid is $10 you can’t bid $10.25 it would have to be $11 or more.
- How to place a bid: You can bid on as many items as you want and there is no limit on the amount of bids. There are 2 ways but no matter which way you do it you need to e-mail me at kelli.bloomquist@gmail.com with your name and e-mail address with your first bid so that I know who you are or you can post your full name with your e-mail address under the comment. If you just write “Julie” and win I have no clue who you are so you need to have an e-mail address with the bid or you need to e-mail me with it.
1. Each item has its own post. Just
hit the comment button and you will see another person’s bid unless you are
the first person to bid on an item. You need to bid higher than the current bid
or minimum bid if there is one noted.
2. Should you want to be an anonymous
bidder e-mail me at kelli.bloomquist@gmail.com with your name and the
amount of your current bid. You will then see a comment come through under the
post with anonymous and a current bid. No one will know who you are! Some people
have already asked to be a private bidder so you can’t be private to me since
I am running it, but you can be “private” to everyone else!
7. The
auction will run until Friday, September14th at 910:00 pm
Central time. This is a real time auction and the comments and bids should
post within seconds. Once we are 30 minutes out of closing time I will post and
let you know what time my clock says and then I will do another 2 minute warning
before the auction ends
8. Should
you have any questions or want detailed items on an item I can do my best to
answer them or at least contact the vendor for you and get an answer. Please be
patient. E-mail me at kelli.bloomquist@gmail.com
9. Have fun!
Sit back, relax and shop! Help spread the word as much as you can! If you
haven’t shared any of our fundraisers yet this is the one to share!
Thank you!!
